It’s a lesson I’m constantly having to revise, and it sounds as if I could really learn from you. I appreciate your taking the time to comment here. It means a lot! 💛
I’ve been reflecting on the last 12 months especially lately, and I can say with confidence that the middle of last year was the second darkest period of my existence. I was one foot in front of the other every moment of every day. Eventually the dense fog lifted and even though I obviously don’t (and never will) have all the answers I am so much more centered and at peace within myself at this moment and with where I’m heading.
BEing in gratitude for the people, experiences, and energy I now have the capacity of welcoming into my life has made such an immense impact on me 🥹
Wow, Cole. I really appreciate your being willing to share that. Thank you for your honesty. We all go through those dark moments, and it's such a great reminder that they do in fact come to an end. I'm glad that giving yourself time and space (and leaning into community) made such an impact. And, I love how you're paying it all forward now. ☺️
Thank you for such an important reminder! In the midst of such desperate energy to do something, it's vital to pay attention to tending ourselves as part of that process.
Oh, I'm so glad it resonated. It honestly came from such a personal place. 🌱 I appreciated your sharing my words, and thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment here.
I'm curious if you've heard of Kendra Adachi or read her latest book, The Plan. If not, go put it on hold at your local library. I sense her words might be the gentle exhale to you that they are to me. 🫶
OMG, 93%?!?!? No wonder…just, no wonder! Yep, I’m signed up for her mailing list and got onto the list to borrow it from my library…unless I buy it sooner. I’m so grateful for the recommendation!
This is the kind of post that makes people exhale deeply and think ‘Oh good, it’s not just me.’
We are never alone in our thoughts.
The goals are foggy, but the heart is loud. Maybe that’s the compass we’re meant to follow right now - not the ‘what,’ but the ‘who.’ Who do we want to be for the people we love? For the complicated, beautiful world?
Truth. I work in Community Home Care with our Beloved Elders of All Nationalities.
I have learned over the past 10 years to Guard my Joy very carefully, so I have it to give to Them 🥰🇨🇦
Thank you for your work. 🥰

I’m very grateful! It’s the reminder I need so often, so I’m grateful you shared from your own experience. 😊

Oh, I haven’t, but I will do that now! Thank you for the recommendation. A gentle exhale is the right medicine for this time! 💚
Right?! The whole book is excellent, but I just posted a teeny snippet here: https://substack.com/@laurazug/note/c-89035398
