You’ve nailed the challenge of balancing attracting new members with keeping them engaged. Focus on relationships over content - YES. A million times YES.

I wanna shout this to LinkedIn creators right now, but they won't get it, Laura.

It’s the people that make a community stronger. I also loved your point about evolving with your members’ needs. Communities that adapt and listen, offering ongoing value, are the ones that build lasting connections. Really insightful. Thank you!

Hype is my love language.

Nothing fuels me more than seeing someone shine (and you make it so easy).

I have mixed feelings about this as in my experience of community building I do want people to move on once they have reached their comfort level and maximum value they can get from me - I've always believed in developing people so they can find their own way rather than stay with me... except my wife that is... I hope she will always find value in me...

I love communities where new people come in as others leave - but that said I totally understand the importance of stickiness rather than a flow - better to have a community like honey that is a slow pour out than one which is too fluid like water and can become tidal

This was an excellent article, thanks for the read

I love that metaphor (well, technically simile): like honey that is a slow pour out!! 🍯

And yes…there is absolutely a celebration when members graduate. I cut so much out here, and didn’t have space to go into meaningful ways to keep alumni in the fold.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read—and for going the extra mile to comment back!
