This is for all my fellow Substack writers!
Ever stare at your dashboard feeling a bit overwhelmed? (You're not alone! 🤯) Between Notes, discussion threads, and all the other ways to connect with readers, Substack can feel like a puzzle no one yet knows how to solve.
I spend my days helping people build online communities, and I still find myself experimenting with (and sometimes fumbling through) all these Substack features! Lately, this has come up again and again in The Hive (our community for community leaders)—and a lot of us are figuring it out as we go.
So, in the spirit of "Never Struggle Alone," I'm hosting a free virtual gathering next Monday, February 24th at 11am EST.
I’m no “sage on the stage” here—this will be a casual chance to share what's working, what's flopping, and how we're using tools like Notes, discussion threads, podcasts, and live chats to build real connections.
If you've been figuring this out too (or want to hear what others are learning), I'd love to see you there!
Looking forward to learning together. 🐝
If you're new here—welcome! In addition to writing Community Matters here on Substack, I lead The Hive, a community for curious, kindhearted community builders. If you're looking for more community-building support along the way, come join us in The Hive—we're offering a 14-day free trial right now.
I think I will miss this one but other people shouldn't! Never been to an event of yours I didn't like, never mind benefit from intellectually.
